I was fed up with buying underwear that fell apart in the wash and that was cheaply constructed with potentially harmful synthetic fabrics like polyester, nylon, and rayon. That’s how I first came across Pact’s organic cotton underwear – I was ready to spend a little more on 100% cotton underwear that hopefully held up to life on the farm. And I was very pleasantly surprised.

I’ve since made several more Pact purchases and have almost completely swapped out my underwear wardrobe. Here’s my honest, unbiased review of Pact underwear.

Pact Underwear at a Glance: Pros and Cons

I thought I’d start off with the basics, then get into the nitty gritty below if you’re still undecided on tyring Pact underwear.

Pros

  • Very comfortable. I was skeptical about how comfortable these were going to be – honestly, pictures don’t really do these undies justice. The waistband doesn’t dig into your stomach, but they also don’t ride down. There’s also just enough stretch to make them form to your body, without being so stretchy that they become loose or baggy.
  • Breathable. There’s no buts about it (pun intended), life gets sweaty on the farmstead, and synthetic underwear has always exacerbated that problem for me. Pact underwear is the first I’ve tried that actually feels cool and breathable, even while working out in the sun.
  • Made with fair-trade organic cotton. This is where the extra cost comes in – Pact underwear is made with fair-trade organic cotton that’s sustainably sourced.
  • True to size. These underwear fit like a glove and don’t stretch out after a few wears like other cheaper undies. I recommend getting the same size you would get in pants or skirts that come in small-medium-large sizing rather than numbered sizes.
  • Several cuts and styles to choose from. My favorite cut is the classic bikini, but Pact underwear comes in a variety of styles, including cute lace options.

Cons

  • Popular sizes have limited availability. Many popular sizes are often sold out on Pact’s website, so you might have to sit tight for your size to come back in stock. But if you have flexibility on the fit and color, you might be able to snag a pair in your size and for a discount. Otherwise, check Amazon. Sizes tend to be more available through Pact’s Amazon storefront.
  • High price point. Pact underwear runs around $16 a pair if you pay full price, which is on the steep side. That said, there are lots of ways to save. Limited-size fits are often marked down to around $9 a pair, or you can save on bundles of 3 or 6 pairs that usually come out to about $12 or $13 each.

Pact Underwear Sizing

Pact runs very true to size in my opinion, and there is some stretch. If you’re in between sizes, you could probably size down, but I would go with whatever size you normally get in pants and skirts that come in S,M,L, etc. The size chart on their website is very accurate, too, if you want to compare your pant size to Pact’s underwear sizing.

Does Pact Underwear Shrink?

No, I have not had this problem at all. Pact does recommend washing their clothing in cold water, though, which I always do.

Pact Underwear Longevity

These underwear are built to last and are much more durable than other major brands that I used to wear and toss out after just a couple months. The seams are stitched well and the fabric holds up, even to working out, running, and daily chores around the farm. While you’ll pay a little more for these upfront, they will last you much longer than the average department store pair.

Pact Shipping and Returns

You have to spend $150 or more to get free shipping. Otherwise, standard shipping is $5 and expedited shipping is $8.

Pact does offer free returns if you use a Happy Return Bar location, but there are a few stipulations to this policy:

  • Returned items must be unworn, unwashed, and in their original packaging.
  • Returns must be made within 30 days of purchase.
  • Sale and clearance items are final sale, so they cannot be returned.

If you want to drop off your return at a UPS drop-box, there’s a $3 fee.

Bottom Line: Pact Underwear Are Worth the Price

Pact underwear are worth paying a little extra for because they last longer than other cheaper underwear and are more comfortable to boot. They check all the boxes of must-haves in underwear, minus sometimes having to wait for your size to come in stock.
